Help for an Inzintian Journey Home

You might have wondered why I have spent so much time explaining the process of being born again, and the developmental arc of holy ones. It is because understanding the process is important in the time period we have just entered into - to both the holy ones and the other sheep. There are two passages of scripture that will make everything clear: John 16:7-11 and John 14:5 and 6. I have quoted them below:

Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth, it is for your benefit that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the helper will not come to you; but if I do go, I will send him to you. And when that one comes, he will give the world convincing evidence concerning sin and concerning righteousness and concerning judgment: first concerning sin, because they are not exercising faith in me; then concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will see me no longer; then concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged
Joh 16:7-11

And ...

Thomas said to him: "Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?" Jesus said to him: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you men had known me, you would have known my Father also; from this moment on you know him and have seen him."
Joh 14:5,6

We have covered John 16:8-11 in some detail already. And I promised that I would tell you the other times that this scripture would have fulfillment. We know that the first instance was at Pentecost 33 CE and thereafter, for the rest of that first century. The Apostle John was still active (but then very old) in around 98 CE. These two passages of scripture are parallel texts that highlight different features of the same phenomenon.

"I am the Way and the Truth and the Life"

Jesus uttered those words in answer to the question: "Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?" His answer then was about a journey between where he, Thomas, and the rest of Christ's apostles were then, and the final destination of arriving in Heaven. We know that Heaven is the final destination, because Christ next says, "No one comes to the Father - except through me." Thus the journey in question is about the road to be traveled between the Earth and Jehovah, in Heaven! This is clearly evident as Thomas' original question was ... "We don't know where you are going. How can we know the way?" Thus, Thomas' later trip and that of his fellow apostles would mirror Christ's own trip. That is the context of the whole discussion. Christ had just told his disciples:

In the house of my Father are many dwelling places. Otherwise, I would have told you, for I am going my way to prepare a place for you. Also, if I go my way and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will receive you home to myself, so that where I am you also may be. And where I am going, you know the way
Joh 14:2-4

The discussion then as defined by Thomas' question is: if you are saying, we as your disciples are going to follow you later on, once you come back for us and we then take the same journey that you are about to take now - how will we know how to get there when we don't even know where you are going? These details are important, so I will rephrase them in another way: "You are going on a journey, you say we will take a journey to the same place later. You are saying we know the way, but how can that be seeing that we don't even know where you are going?" Now that we have that clear in mind, let us summarize what is happening in this conversation. Christ is giving his faithful apostles point-by-point directions about the way to get to Heaven - his impending destination! When Thomas doesn't get the point Christ elaborates, by giving the disciples three guiding principles that will take them to their new home - Heaven. We know that the three factors have to do with the journey, and not the final destination, because Christ ends their listing, by saying: "No one comes to the Father except through me." "Through me" tells us the details he has just given are about the journey - and not about what happens after arrival!

Having understood that, we now come to appreciate that these three factors: "the way ... the truth ... and the life" must all take place before Christ comes to take all the holy ones to Heaven, at the last trumpet:

Because the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel's voice and with God's trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first. Afterward we the living who are surviving will, together with them, be caught away in clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we will always be with the Lord. So keep comforting one another with these words
1Th 4:16-18

The clear simple language in these verses make it plain that when Christ comes to take the holy ones to Heaven, as promised at John 14:5,6, it will be all of us - dead and alive - at the same time! This comes through loud and clear as the word used to describe the ascension to Heaven of the holy ones is "together." "Together" is, of course, the opposite of "separate." We have spoken previously about the two types of transformations that will take place at this time - "in the blink of an eye." Part of the "sacred secret" about these two transitions is their timing - they will both happen "during the last trumpet." (1Co 15:51,52) So, while - in the transformations - the dead will be resurrected "first" and the living will be changed "afterwards," since such changes happen in the blink of an eye, in a moment, their timing is for all practical purposes, simultaneous. Thus, when it comes to the actual journey to Heaven to meet our loving Father - it will be in the exact same period of time for us all! (1Th 4:16,17) There is no staggering of holy travelers: no "first" this group goes, and then "afterwards" the other group! Those terms "first," and "afterwards" apply solely to the "changes" that we will all experience as the holy spirit makes abundantly clear. According to "Jehovah's word" the two groups of anointed: those who have been resurrected; and those who never died, will be together before we "meet the Lord in the air!" 1Th 4:17 then goes on to declare, "and thus we will always be with the Lord." (1Th 4:17) And that is how Christ's prophecy at John 14:5,6 will come to fruition!

Having realized this, we also come to appreciate that his two statements quoted below are nested realities. In other words the one fits inside the other. Here they are: his factual statement: "I am going my way to prepare a place for you. ... So that were I am you may also be." (Joh 14:2,3) The second part of that is that once the "place" is prepared, he will return to take us there. In other words: none of the anointed can get there before Christ returns to take us there:

Also, if I go my way and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will receive you home to myself, so that where I am you also may be
Joh 14:3

This is the 'context' scripture that lays out the parameters. The journey that is being talked about - our journey to Heaven as holy ones - fits into the time period between Christ going "[his] way," and him coming back "again" so that he can "receive [us] home to [himself], so that where I am you also may be." We all understand cause and effect, and thus appreciate that you cannot get to a place before you take the journey. Next, we learn what the road, the journey to that final destination entails:

Jesus said to him: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"
Joh 14:6

We know that these details are somehow part of that journey because they fit into the time period before we come "to the Father." Bookending the instructions "I am the way and the truth and the life," with the statement: "No one comes to the Father except through me" means that all three expressions must be accomplished before the "last trumpet," which is the event that takes all the anointed in one big group - or "together" directly to the Father in Heaven, in company with Christ and his holy angels.

Historically, it has believed that "the life" would take place after Armageddon, in God's paradise Earth. But this is a misunderstanding, for the simple reason that at that point all the holy ones will have come "to the Father" - without fulfilling the three-tier travel instructions. An important detail is John 14:4:

And where I am going, you know the way
Joh 14:4

Which is the affirmative version of the prohibitive declaration:

No one comes to the Father except through me
Joh 14:6b

In other words what the apostles, and later the rest of the 144 000 holy ones (at that point yet to be chosen), need to get to Heaven is contained in Christ. He is the conduit. When Thomas asks him about that, he expands on his explanation telling him, that the definition of what he is, is more than just the way, but also "the truth and the life!" By then adding "No one come to the Father except through me," he is telling us that reaching the Father passes through all three of those expressions, since he has just defined himself as all three expressions. It is like when you are on a road trip to a favourite destination: there are always landmark cities/towns that you pass that serve as progress markers of how close you are to your final destination. Once you've reached such and such a place, you know the road trip is in full swing. Personally, on such roadtrips my markers are Wimpy's branches. Once I reach this the Wimpy in this petrol station I can have breakfast/lunch and take a little break because I'm halfway there. And once I reach this road sign, I know I am on the final leg and less than a half hour from the sea. This is how a typical road trip unfolds. And that is what Christ was here providing. Of course, all these signals of the road trip happen before we reach our final destination. We don't get to Cape Town for our vacation and then see the sign that says "Cape Town 110km." We see the sign first, and then reach Cape Town! And so it is with Christ. What then did the three expressions made by Christ, which were meant to be taken together as what defined him, Christ: the conduit to "the Father" - signify?

Three Administrations

These words are three administrations that the holy ones must administer before the "last trumpet," which takes us to Heaven to meet our God and Father! These three administrations relate to John 16:8-11 in three distinct ways - one per administration:

Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth, it is for your benefit that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the helper will not come to you; but if I do go, I will send him to you. And when that one comes, he will give the world convincing evidence concerning sin and concerning righteousness and concerning judgment: first concerning sin, because they are not exercising faith in me; then concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will see me no longer; then concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged
Joh 16:7-11

I have quoted the scripture from verse 7, for context, but what we are now focusing in on is the portion from verse 8, which starts with the words: "And when that one comes he will give the world convincing evidence...." How is this prophecy coming to fruition?

Administration No. 1: "The Way"

We have already dealt with the first administration of Christ's Kingdom which was called - you guessed it - "The Way":

But Saul, still breathing threat and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that he might bring bound to Jerusalem any whom he found who belonged to The Way, both men and women
Ac 9:2

Notice first, that in Acts 9:2 "the way" that Christ told Thomas about, now becomes "The Way," with capital letters - indicating it represents a noun! What does that noun refer to? An administration of the holy ones that was responsible for giving the world "convincing evidence!" Here are several more scriptures making clear that the first century Christians were known informally as "The Way":

Entering the synagogue, for three months he spoke with boldness, giving talks and reasoning persuasively about the Kingdom of God. But when some stubbornly refused to believe, speaking injuriously about The Way before the crowd, he withdrew from them and separated the disciples from them, giving talks daily in the school auditorium of Ty·ran'nus
Ac 19:8,9

This instance, of course, references Paul. We can see that the "helper," the holy spirit kept giving "convincing evidence to the world" even after that initial day on Pentecost 33 CE. Looking at verses 1-6, we see new disciples in Ephesus, having a similar experience to the 120 disciples in Jerusalem where the helper was first poured out. Thus this "convincing evidence" of speaking in tongues, was a constant feature of the first century disciples of Christ. And it died out with them. Which is why no one today speaks in tongues!:

If there are tongues, they will cease
1Co 13:8

I will explain shortly why the "convincing evidence to the world" ceases. For now, we continue establishing that the early Christians were universally known as "The Way.":

So he sent to Mac·e·do'ni·a two of those who ministered to him, Timothy and E·ras'tus, but he himself stayed on for some time in the province of Asia. At that time quite a disturbance arose concerning The Way
Ac 19:22,23

And ...

"Men, brothers and fathers, hear my defense to you now." Well, when they heard that he was addressing them in the Hebrew language, they kept all the more silent, and he said: "I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Ci·li'cia, but educated in this city at the feet of Ga·ma'li·el, instructed according to the strictness of the ancestral Law, and zealous for God just as all of you are this day. I persecuted this Way to the point of death, binding and handing over to prisons both men and women, as the high priest and all the assembly of elders can bear witness. From them I also obtained letters to the brothers in Damascus, and I was on my way to bring those who were there in bonds to Jerusalem to be punished. "But as I was traveling and getting near to Damascus, about midday, suddenly out of heaven a great light flashed all around me, and I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me: 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?'
" Ac 22:1-7

In this case I have included a lot of context in the quoted scripture - for good reason. Our aim is to confirm that early Christianity was known as The Way. That is accomplished early when Paul - under trial - says, "I persecuted this Way." What is of additional interest to us is that Paul later shows that this Way is synonymous with Christ himself. That is the last verse, verse 7, in which he quotes Jesus as saying: "Saul, Saul, why are persecuting me?" Thus "this Way" and the Christ are one and the same thing - as Jesus had told Thomas. The Way is part of a threefold definition of the Christ. But above I have stated that the early Christians were universally also known as The Way, below we establish that fact:

However, Felix, knowing quite well the facts concerning this Way, began to put them off and say: "Whenever Lys'i·as the military commander comes down, I will decide these matters involving you."
Ac 24:22

We have seen that Christians were known as The Way in the province of Asia, and specifically in prominent cities of the time such as Ephesus. In fact wherever the message was spread they were also known as the way. And the early Christians spread the word about Christ so broadly that it covered all of the ancient major centers around what we would today call the Middle East. So pervasive was their evangelizing that it could be said that the, "Good news ... was preached in all creation under heaven." (Col 1:23) Now, let us set matters straight on the question of why gifts of the holy spirit, "cease?"

Evidence Profiles Confirm Parallel Application

This is where the fact that John 14:6 and John 16:8-11 are parallel scriptures comes to the fore. Again, I quote both below:

Jesus said to him: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you men had known me, you would have known my Father also; from this moment on you know him and have seen him."
Joh 14:6

And ...

Joh 16:8-11
The First Evidence Profile

We don't need to guess as to what's going on. We know that these scriptures are parallel scriptures because they have the same Evidence Profile. And it is Evidence Profiles that identify what seems to be different phenomena - as one and the same reality! There is an Evidence Profile for John 16:8, "He will give the world convincing evidence ... first concerning sin , because they are not exercising faith in me." This was fulfilled through the first century Christians, starting from Peter and the other 120 disciples at Pentecost 33 CE. We studied how they were able to convince "unbelievers," to repent and start exercising faith in Jesus Christ. This dynamic didn't stop in 33 CE. Later, after Saul had converted to Christianity, he himself helped other new disciples to get holy spirit, and similarly begin "speaking in foreign languages and prophesying." (Ac 19:5,6) The apostle John - who was still alive in around 98 CE - was also there at Pentecost and was thus part of the initial group of 120 disciples of Christ who were speaking the "magnificent things of God" to all the Jews who had gathered in Jerusalem. What did the first "convincing evidence" to "the world" prove to be? Speaking in tongues. Do you see that there is no room for misinterpreting these scriptures? Christ listed the convincing evidences that were meant for "the world" as: 1) "concerning sin" 2) "concerning righteousness" and 3) "concerning judgement." Since Peter and the 120 disciples were the first to use this power and their "sign to unbelievers" was speaking in tongues, we understand that, that event, was the fulfillment of the first "convincing evidence," - the one "concerning sin." And the adminstration that effected the fulfillment of that part of the prophecy was called "The Way." Let us now look to see if there is a second such adminstration, and if so, to determine what part of the prophecy it fulfilled.

The Second Evidence Profile

We have a second Evidence Profile as found in John 14:6! That is, we have another term that defines Christ, which is not "The Way." Put another way: if the first century Christians were known as the way, who would the titles The Truth and The Life apply to? From John 14:6, we learned that Jesus answered Thomas' question about how to get to Heaven with the answer: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." The Evidence Profile we are now going to consider is the one that shows us upon whom, these latter titles were fulfilled? Again, we know from the many scriptures in the book of the Acts of the Apostles (that's the full name of the book known as "Acts"), that the first century Christians were known as The Way! Thus, the first "convincing evidence," the one "concerning sin" was fulfilled by The Way!

"But that's only one out of three." One step at a time. It is obvious that both sets of scriptures are describing consolidated realities. That is, something that is part of a bigger framework. The first, and thereafter, the two subsequent "convincing evidences" are all directed "to the world." Similarly, Christ being "the way and the truth and the life," are also one thing - since they are defining the Christ. Christ cannot be separated. Thus, the pattern set by one fulfillment will be followed in the subsequent two fulfillments! This will become clear later, when I also establish the Evidence Profile for why The Way; The Truth; and The Life, are properly called administrations. For now, we emphasize the fact that there are three "convincing evidence[s]" to be proven "to the world," and that Christ gave his apostles three variables by which he would be defined: "the way, and the truth, and the life." Moreover, we also acknowledge that in the implementation of the first "convincing evidence," the group of holy ones who fulfilled that part of the prophecy were known as "The Way" - now capitalized! Thus, to confirm whether this pattern was indeed a formula laid out by the Christ, we only need to look for a second implementation of other parts of these prophecies - to confirm whether or not, the pattern holds!

Before we leave the first administration: The Way - let us answer an outstanding question: "why do gifts of the spirit cease?"

Why Gifts "Cease"

Why gifts of the spirit cease is, in fact, a third Evidence Profile! In his description of the convincing evidence that the helper would furnish to the world, i.e., "unbelievers," Christ added unambiguous details - that themselves form an Evidence Profile.

He said:

First concerning sin, because they are not exercising faith in me
Joh 16:9

As we have already established in great detail, this expression could only apply to the people who were actual witnesses to Christ's ministry on Earth. That is why it was a sin! They had seen Christ for themselves - and still didn't believe! Speaking of such people Christ once addressed the Pharisees and told them directly:

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! ... Serpents, offspring of vipers, how will you flee from the judgment of Ge·hen'na?
Mt 23:29a,33

As it turned out, through the mercy of a loving God. Once the "convincing evidence to the world" started to occur, the book of Acts tells us that:

Consequently, the word of God continued to spread, and the number of the disciples kept multiplying very much in Jerusalem; and a large crowd of priests began to be obedient to the faith
Ac 6:7

One of those Pharisees who benefitted from the mercies of Jehovah and his loyal Son, Jesus the Christ was a young man named Saul - more popularly known as the Apostle Paul ... the greatest evangelizer of the Good News.

Thus, the profile of those who sinned by not putting faith in Jesus during his sojourn to the Earth can only fit people who lived in the first century CE. It was to them that the convincing evidence in the form or speaking in "tongues," - what 1 Corinthians 14:22 calls "a sign ... for the unbelievers" was directed! How do we know? The Bible tells us so!:

Brothers, do not become young children in your understanding, but be young children as to badness; and become full-grown in your understanding. In the Law it is written: "'With the tongues of foreigners and with the lips of strangers I will speak to this people, and even then they will refuse to listen to me,' says Jehovah." Therefore, tongues are not a sign for the believers but for the unbelievers, whereas prophecy is not for the unbelievers but for the believers
1Co 14:20-22

The law told us two things: tongues are a sign to unbelievers, but also that those unbelievers would be unique - they would all be part of the nation of Israel. That is what the words "this people" refers to! Remember that the law was only written for, and given to the Israelites. It didn't apply to gentiles. You can confirm that for yourself by reading the original scripture that Paul was here quoting. It is found in Isaiah 28:11 and 12. Further, the nation of Israel was destroyed in 70 CE as retribution for killing the Christ. So, the "this people" reference, which was dependent on the public genealogical records that were kept of every Israelite birth ended at 70 CE when Jerusalem was burned to the ground - and the genealogical records with it! The intersection of people who witnessed Jesus' ministry not believing he was the Christ, and their historical genealogical records being destroyed in 70 CE limited "this people" to that generation. "Tongues" are completely irrelevant to unbelievers who are gentiles. That's why it is crazy for people to currently make funny, unintelligible noises and claim they are speaking in tongues. It's like the lost souls claiming to be born again. Sad. But not just sad. Sad, with imminent dire consequences!

We move on ...

Administration No. 2: "The Truth"

We now have our pattern set through Evidence Profiles! What then can we expect from the second administration? We know that it will be called The Truth. We also know that the convincing evidence it will furnish to "the world" will be about "righteousness." It will be:

... Concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will see me no longer
Joh 16:10

Christ was already in Heaven when the first administration started its work. This is obvious, not only from the chronology of events, but because had he not been resurrected to Heavenly life, the helper never would have come. Recall, that that is one of the central reasons why the helper comes - to give an undeniable Evidence Profile that Jesus was the Christ - and has been resurrected to life in Heaven!

An Evidence Profile "Concerning Righteousness"

We have seen how God made his truths available to first century "unbelievers." That is people from the ancient nation of Israel who witnessed Christ's ministry, but nonetheless failed to put faith in him. But what of people who have never heard of God? The Bible tells us of what we would call good people. These people are those who do the things of the Mosaic law, without having the benefit of a written code from Jehovah:

For when people of the nations, who do not have law, do by nature the things of the law, these people, although not having law, are a law to themselves. They are the very ones who demonstrate the matter of the law to be written in their hearts, while their conscience is bearing witness with them, and by their own thoughts they are being accused or even excused
Ro 2:14,15

Jehovah wants the whole world to be saved. And he extends salvation to all humble-hearted ones who exercise faith in the name of his Son. (Joh 3:16,17) With the disappearance of the apostles towards the end of the first century, and the foretold apostasy getting a stranglehold on Christianity through the dark ages, would honest hearted ones be able to use the Bible to find the truth? The answer is yes and the Evidence Profile was fulfilled by the second administration of holy ones - the administration of The Truth At the beginning of this administration a group of Bible students used to gather together to read the Bible. They followed a simple formula for attaining Bible truth: they would discuss one topic, say the trinity, or life after death. They would then look for all the scriptures in the Bible that touched on that subject and draw Bible based conclusions from the Evidence Profiles they found in the Bible! It couldn't be more straightforward. Through that simple formula, the second administration was born! They had this and that name for it at the beginning, but as prophecy always wins out - this administration eventually became known as The Truth. Through it, Jehovah has shown that the wicked Churches of Christendom, typified by the Roman Catholic Church, have no excuse for the many false beliefs they teach as doctrine. "Righteousness" could be attained by cultivating faith in Jehovah's Word, and in Jesus Christ - even when Christ and his apostles and first century disciples were not around!

The first administration started very publicly in 33 CE - on the day known as Pentecost. It lasted until the death of the apostles and Christ's faithful first century disciples. The second administration started in the late 19th century - sometime in the 1870s - by a man called Charles T Russell. It was he and a small group of associates that would form the beginnings of the second administration. Wonderfully, this administration expanded, and just like its first century counterpart - has preached the good news: "in all creation under heaven!" (Col 1:23b)

Since it's remit was directed at showing the world that honest hearted ones could find the "truth" of God's word through the Bible, it has focused on spreading this message to all who are willing to listen. It is from this administration that the free Bible studies you have been refusing for years are offered. Are you starting to connect the dots?

It has not come to its end, as it dovetails with the rise of the third administration of Christ ...

Administration No. 3: "The Life"

Historically, The Life was thought to be what Revelation describes when it speaks of:

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. I also saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." And the One seated on the throne said: "Look! I am making all things new." Also he says: "Write, for these words are faithful and true." And he said to me: "They have come to pass! I am the Al'pha and the O·me'ga, the beginning and the end. To anyone thirsting I will give from the spring of the water of life free
Re 21:1-7

Or ...

And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, flowing out from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of its main street. On both sides of the river were trees of life producing 12 crops of fruit, yielding their fruit each month. And the leaves of the trees were for the healing of the nations. And there will no longer be any curse. But the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his slaves will offer him sacred service
Re 22:1-3

But that is not what "life" has represented in the Bible, whenever God presented it to people in the past. Life has always had a counterpart - "death." And the offer of life was always about judgement - about people deciding for themselves to choose life, instead of death. We choose life of course by being obedient to Jehovah's loving word. Here is an historical example from ancient Israel:

See, I do put before you today life and good, and death and bad. If you listen to the commandments of Jehovah your God that I am commanding you today, by loving Jehovah your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his judicial decisions, then you will live and multiply, and Jehovah your God will bless you in the land you are going to possess. "But if your heart turns away and you do not listen and you are enticed and bow down to other gods and serve them, I tell you today that you will certainly perish. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess. I take the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you today that I have put life and death before you, the blessing and the curse; and you must choose life so that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving Jehovah your God, by listening to his voice, and by sticking to him, for he is your life and by him you will endure a long time in the land that Jehovah swore to give to your forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
De 30:15-20

So, "life" is not about 'lifestyle,' or our quality of life, or having a care-free life, or earning a good living, or any such concepts. It's about choosing for ourselves whether we will live or die. This decision as the holy spirit made clear through the hand of Moses comes down to if we are willing to "listen to the commandments of Jehovah," and "by loving Jehovah your God, by listening to his voice, and by sticking to him, for he is [our] life."

Of course, the initial bit about listening to "the commandments of Jehovah" applied to the Mosaic law. We have, not the shadow (the Mosaic law), but the reality - we have Christ! (Col 2:17,18) We can use our unfailing Evidence Profiles to confirm that The Life is indeed about choosing - and thus about judgement!

Since John 14:6 and 16:8-11 are parallel accounts, we can confirm what The Life is "concerning!" The Way was "concerning sin." The Truth was "concerning righteousness." The Life is ...

... Concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged
Joh 16:11

Far from The Life being about enjoying oneself in paradise, it is about the myriad judgements Jehovah will pour down on Devil and his all his minions - demonic and human at the rise of the third administration - the administration of The Life!

It is the rise of this third administration - that I am publishing to you!

This adminstration, like the first two, must accomplish its mandate before the last trumpet! Unlike the last two it is not involved. That is, it does not take a long time to establish, nor does it last for decades - even more than a century, for it is about denunciation and works of faith that Jehovah has prepared in advance to "bring to nothing the things that are." (1Co 1:28; Eph 2:10; 1Co 2:7)

Each Administration Relates a Quality of Christ to an Era-Specific "Convincing Evidence" Evidence Profile

Just as the convincing evidence of "tongues" related to Jewish "unbelievers" and was specific to that time, and that convincing evidence was brought about because of "sin." That is people who saw Christ and his works for themselves - but yet refused to believe. All three factors: 1) An era-specific "convincing evidence" Evidence Profile, as implemented by the holy ones through the "helper," the Holy Spirit; 2) An adminstration that is named after a particular definition of the Christ, and; 3) A critical era-specific issue that the spirit begotten "convincing evidence" is addressing. In all cases these three factors are related and have a set pattern of implementation.

The same formula applies for the second administration. Let us take a look.

1) Convincing Evidence: being able to find the truth without the presence of Jesus - or his first century followers, using nothing but a simple formula and sincere hearts. Indeed this was the formula that many "righteous" used to debunk false beliefs of the Roman Catholic Church all through the middle ages. This is how Newton came to understand that the trinity was a pagan belief and had nothing to do with God and Jesus! The difference is that all these "righteous" people through the middle ages were not an administration! Verstaan jy? 2) The second administration's prophesied implementation of the "convincing evidence" of finding righteousness in the absence of Christ, is defined by the second of Christ's descriptive titles - "The Truth." 3) Lastly, this "convincing evidence" Evidence Profile, relates directly to a particular era-specific problem to be solved. In the case of the second administration, it was the issue of identifying what is the Truth as found in the Bible, and then faithfully practicing "righteousness," even after hundreds of years of entrenched apostasy due to the absence of the Christ in that interval!

At the end of the 1800s and the beginning of the 1900s millions of people still believed deeply in Christianity. But as Catholicism began to lose its grip, many decided to abandon Christianity. The point of the second administration is that leaving Babylon the Great didn't mean you become non-religious. We all need to worship the only true God - it's an inborn need. (Mt 5:3) And that's the point: The Truth was a home for all sincere truth seekers. Abandoning false religion is only half of the journey, you also have to find and stick to Jehovah. Remember Moses' words from De 30:15-20! All the works that the second adminstration - The Truth - would accomplish are encapsulated in Christ's words:

Then concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will see me no longer
Joh 16:10

In similar fashion: the third administration has the same three factors and they have a set relationship to each other: convincing evidence to the world that is era-specific; the adminstration that fulfils prophecy has a name that reflects an aspect of Christ; and that descriptive name is "concerning" a function which addresses an era-specific problem or issue! In the first century: the "convincing evidence" to the world was the Holy Spirit dependent ability to speak in "tongues." The administration that implemented that prophecy was called "The Way,"; and the era-specific issue the prophecy was addressing was "concerning sin," since the unbelievers had witnessed Christ's ministry for themselves - and yet failed to exercise faith in him! In the modern era, from the late 1800s onward: the "convincing evidence" to the world was the ability to unearth scriptural truths from the Bible even after centuries of apostasy from Christendom. The administration that implemented that prophecy was called "The Truth,"; and the era-specific issue the prophecy was addressing was "concerning righteousness," since many in Christendom were unwilling to go through the process of building faith in God and his Christ as outlined in Hebrews 11:1-3. This faith could be built even in the absence of Christ and his original disciples of the first century: for Christ had gone his way "to the Father," and the generation of the first century Christians had long since died. That is the pattern between John 16:8-11 and John 14:6. That's how it works! Now, with that knowledge, let us reverse engineer.

Recall what I have been saying throughout the blog about evidence once it starts growing: it all gathers on one side - the side of the truth. This is why we can reverse engineer. We can approach the matter from any angle and we will end up with the same conclusion, because all the evidence points to the same truths! For our exercise, we consider what the names Devil and Satan mean. Remember the "convincing evidence" addresses a pressing era-specific issue that Christ always identifies. In the case of the third administration, the problematic issue is squarely focused on the ruler of this world: "The great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth...." (Re 12:9) Now, what do those names mean?

Slanderer

Devil wants to be known as the great emancipator of mankind, an enlightener and civilizing agent in human society. But nothing could be further from the truth. First of: mankind did not need civilizing. We don't come from monkeys. We were created in the image of God! (Ge 1:26) It is Devil who has misled mankind into believing in the cult of evolution. This is just one example of how he slanders Jehovah's good name. After Jehovah created Adam and Woman, he surveyed all he had created into existence and approvingly declared: "It was very good!" (Ge 1:31)

Of course Devil slanders Jehovah through his human agents, for the "whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one." (1Jo 5:19) How does his slanderous attitude manifest itself in his human minions? As ridicule!:

Beloved ones, this is now the second letter I am writing you in which, as in my first one, I am stirring up your clear thinking faculties by way of a reminder, that you should remember the sayings previously spoken by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles. First of all know this, that in the last days ridiculers will come with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires and saying: "Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing exactly as they were from creation's beginning." For they deliberately ignore this fact, that long ago there were heavens and an earth standing firmly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; and that by those means the world of that time suffered destruction when it was flooded with water
2Pe 3:1-6

Devil's slander manifests in the world as ridicule - through those who follow his limited "authority." (Eph 2:2) More collaboration from Christ's half brother Jude:

As for you, beloved ones, call to mind the sayings that have been previously spoken by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, how they used to say to you: "In the last time there will be ridiculers, following their own desires for ungodly things."
Jude 17,18

I purposely quoted several verses in the second letter of Peter because I wanted not only to provide you with the definition of what a ridiculer is (someone who puts emotions over reason), but because I wanted to include the scripture that shows how this emotions-based thinking works: it is based on "deliberately" ignoring relevant facts! Is the Bible right when it says that Devil is "misleading the entire inhabited Earth?" Absolutely. And humans love it that way, because it satisfies their cravings - their desires.

Let us now define Devil's second name ...

Opposer

Jehovah also named Devil - Satan, or Opposer! When Christ said to Peter, "Get behind me Satan," why did he call Peter by that name? The answer tells us a lot about Satan himself. "Because you think, not God's thoughts, but those of men," was the explanation from Jesus. Later, in the book of James, the holy spirit tells through the hands of another of Christ's half brothers, that the terms "earthly, animalistic, demonic," can be used interchangeably, in the context of fallen man, and fallen angels. This corroborates what Christ said about the thoughts of Satan and his demons mirroring human desires. This is how angels turned into demons in the first place - by "[forsaking] their own proper dwelling place" and coming to Earth to engage in sexual relations with women. (Jude 6)

Do you see now why the first two stages of any truth becoming accepted, as per Schopenhauer's words, are - "ridicule" and "violent opposition?" The minions of Devil, of Satan, are merely reflecting the personality of and performing the works of their father!:

You are from your father the Devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father
Joh 8:44

I trust that the dots are connecting. If they are, then you understand why Jehovah has created a "special possession, zealous for fine works" to be "a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for special possession." (Tit 2:14; 1Pe 2:9a) It is because only this special possession - through all the facts we discussed under being born again - can take the fight to the Devil - and come off victorious:

For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome, because everyone who has been born from God conquers the world. And this is the conquest that has conquered the world, our faith
1Jo 5:3,4

It is this "special possession," that Jehovah has chosen to "'declare abroad the excellencies' of the One who called [them] out of darkness into his wonderful light." (1Pe 2:9b) To do so we must be willing and eager to be the zebra with the red dot on its haunch. We cannot stay in the safe zone - smack dab in the middle of the heard:

Now because we have the same spirit of faith as that of which it is written: "I exercised faith, therefore I spoke"; we too exercise faith and therefore we speak, knowing that the One who raised Jesus up will raise us up also with Jesus and will present us together with you
2Co 4:13,14

We can speak boldly, because the only way we are going to rule together with Christ, is if we suffer together. This allows us to understand why Paul was always stressing that he had the "brand marks of a slave of Jesus." (Ga 6:17) And these were no empty words:

Remember that Jesus Christ was raised up from the dead and was David's offspring, according to the good news I preach, for which I am suffering and being imprisoned as a criminal. Nevertheless, the word of God is not bound. For this reason I go on enduring all things for the sake of the chosen ones, so that they too may obtain the salvation that is through Christ Jesus, along with everlasting glory. This saying is trustworthy: Certainly if we died together, we will also live together; if we go on enduring, we will also rule together as kings; if we deny, he will also deny us
2Ti 2:8-12

And as a last example ...

True, some are preaching the Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter are proclaiming the Christ out of love, for they know that I have been appointed to defend the good news; but the former do it out of contentiousness, not with a pure motive, for they are intending to create trouble for me in my prison bonds. With what result? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is being proclaimed, and I rejoice over this. In fact, I will also keep on rejoicing, for I know that this will result in my salvation through your supplication and with the support of the spirit of Jesus Christ. This is in harmony with my eager expectation and hope that I will not be ashamed in any respect, but that with all freeness of speech Christ will now, as always before, be magnified by means of my body, whether through life or through death
Php 1:15-20

Do you see? The only consideration is for how we complete our commissions from Jehovah - the "good works [He] determined in advance, for us to walk in them. (Eph 2:10) We have thoroughly defined the end product, but remember, we are reverse engineering to the two relevant passages in the book of John: one in John 14:6; and the other in John 16:8-11. Knowing that the era-specific issue has to do with holding Devil, the Satan responsible through judgement, what do you think the convincing evidence would prove to be? Here's a clue:

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident
" Arthur Schopenhauer

Convincing evidence, you should understand, is a synonym for accepting a truth as "being self-evident." It is proof that is so clear, that it can't be argued with. Thus, the judging of Satan means producing works that have the power to remove or completely overcome the first two "stages" that truths must usually pass through - to be accepted - in Satan's system of things! This was prophesied to be accomplished by Jehovah revealing knowledge that has been kept secret since before the beginning of human history, thus bringing Satan's world to its knees:

But we speak God's wisdom in a sacred secret, the hidden wisdom, which God foreordained before the systems of things for our glory. It is this wisdom that none of the rulers of this system of things came to know, for if they had known it, they would not have executed the glorious Lord. But just as it is written: "Eye has not seen and ear has not heard, nor have there been conceived in the heart of man the things that God has prepared for those who love him." For it is to us God has revealed them through his spirit, for the spirit searches into all things, even the deep things of God
1Co 2:7-10

Of course, God reveals them to us, for us to "declare abroad his excellencies!" (1Pe 2:9) Only two of the three aspects of Christ's prophecies in John have yet been realized: The Way and The Truth. In the administration of The Life, these revelations of "convincing evidence" will have the effect of bringing God's "judgements" against Satan and his dying system of things. This will bring the two prophecies of Christ that we are considering to their full realization. "The Life," is the conclusion of the "convincing evidence" to the World, for after that, the World will cease to exist as the war of Armageddon is fought. Since these prophesied "good works" by Jehovah's anointed ones, will destroy all "ridicule" and "opposition," to truth, they will form an irrefutable "convincing evidence" profile " to the world," that Jehovah God, is indeed, the Creator of the universe, and its two realms, leading to the truth being universally accepted as "self evident." Or, to put it another way: the truth will become conventional wisdom. This is what the scientific part of this blog that achieved the holy grail of synthesizing Science with the Bible, was about. It is the first of 300 episodes to that effect! Since, the tool Satan the Devil has chosen to use as his most effective means of ridiculing and violently opposing Jehovah's Word, is false science (just like he uses false religion to accomplish the same aim), it means the judgements of "convincing evidence" by the now rising third adminstration, will address that era-specific domain directly! God will set all matters straight about what is scientifically true - and what is not! The effect is going to be a decimating of Satan's already collapsing institutions - through loss of credibility. Or as Job puts it, "their uplifted arm being broken." (Job 38:15) Did you notice when their arm is broken? When it is "uplifted." Put another way, the bigger they are the harder they fall. The false sciences are all going to come crashing down - in real time! When it's a time of judgement: there is no delay! This is what Jehovah means when he says he will reject the intelligence of Intellectuals:

For it is written: "I will make the wisdom of the wise men perish, and the intelligence of the intellectuals I will reject." Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this system of things? Has not God made the wisdom of the world foolish?
1Co 1:19,20

And ...

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, for it is written: "He catches the wise in their own cunning." And again: "Jehovah knows that the reasonings of the wise men are futile."
1Co 3:19,20

In using the holy ones to effect a third administration to destroy the weapons Devil uses to keep mankind in darkness, Jehovah's intentions are clear:

Because a foolish thing of God is wiser than men, and a weak thing of God is stronger than men. For you see his calling of you, brothers, that there are not many wise in a fleshly way, not many powerful, not many of noble birth, but God chose the foolish things of the world to put the wise men to shame; and God chose the weak things of the world to put the strong things to shame; and God chose the insignificant things of the world and the things looked down on, the things that are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, so that no one might boast in the sight of God. But it is due to him that you are in union with Christ Jesus, who has become to us wisdom from God, also righteousness and sanctification and release by ransom, so that it may be just as it is written: "The one who boasts, let him boast in Jehovah."
1Co 1:25-31

"To put the wise men to shame; and ... to put the strong things to shame; and ... to bring to nothing the things that are, so that no one might boast in the sight of God." And that includes Niel deGrasse Tyson! How do we know? Because, Jehovah "making the wisdom of the wise men perish" happens during Satan's time of judgement. (1Co 1:19) That is why the very next verse asks the question: "Where is the debater of this system of things?" In other words, Jehovah's convincing evidence as supplied by revelations of the holy spirit, will completely destroy all ridicule and violent opposition that comes from Intellectuals - the guardians of Satan's galaxy of lies. Since deGrasse Tyson bloviating non-stop about science and the Bible being incompatible, and about black hole this and dark energy that is still in full swing: you know that the fulfillment of this prophecy has only just started, but will be completed before the war of Armageddon - since that is the end of the World: the only arena where such Intellectual debaters belong! Thus, as we have already seen, the administration of The Life has to do with the third variable in Christ's prophecies, as found in John chapters 14 and 16. That is, it has to do with God administering "judgement" - not with humans living well! Thus, it happens before Armageddon, not after - since there is no "World" for the convincing evidence to be aimed at after Armageddon. (Re 21:1) Armageddon is the end of Satan's system of things - of the World, as we know it. After Armageddon, the system of things belongs to Jehovah through Christ and the Messianic Kingdom - not to Satan and his "debaters." (Re 11:15 VS 1Jo 5:19; 1Co 1:20) As such, Jehovah bringing the world to heel is tightly related to it being judged! We cannot separate the one from the other:

But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you also look down on your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. For it is written: "'As surely as I live,' says Jehovah, 'to me every knee will bend, and every tongue will make open acknowledgment to God.'" So, then, each of us will render an account for himself to God
Ro 14:10-12

This includes Jehovah setting all "matters straight respecting many peoples.":

He will render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples
Isa 2:4a

You cannot set matters straight, without "judgement." That is why the administration that is responsible for these functions is called The Life - and relates to the judgement "of the ruler of this world." (Joh 16:11) Jehovah will use this administration to wreak complete havoc on Satan's world. This period of time, when Jehovah repays his enemies, is a "reckoning.":

Every man acts unreasonably and without knowledge. every metalworker will be put to shame because of the carved image; for his metal image* is a falsehood, and there is no spirit in them. They are a delusion, a work of mockery. When their day of reckoning comes, they will perish. The Share of Jacob is not like these things, for he is the One who formed everything, even the staff of his inheritance. Jehovah of armies is his name." "You are a war club for me, a weapon for battle, for with you I will smash nations. With you I will bring kingdoms to ruin. With you I will smash the horse and its rider. With you I will smash the war chariot and its rider. With you I will smash man and woman. With you I will smash old man and boy. With you I will smash young man and woman. With you I will smash shepherd and his flock. With you I will smash farmer and his team of animals. With you I will smash governors and deputy rulers
Jer 51:17-23

We have learnt about the existence of a third administration, but we haven't established why we call all three of these implementations of Jehovah's will - "administrations."

Why Called "Administrations?"

As I said earlier, once the pattern is set, we can use Evidence Profiles to paint a full picture of the relevant details. Some details might be in one Evidence Profile, while others appear in another. Once we realize that two Evidence Profiles match we know we are comparing different facets of the same entity. Speaking of these administrations, the Bible helps us to understand the era-specific aims they will each accomplish:

For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but powerful by God for overturning strongly entrenched things. For we are overturning reasonings and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are bringing every thought into captivity to make it obedient to the Christ
2Co 10:4,5

In the first century this involved convincing evidence to the world concerning "sin!" From the late 1800s to the present day, this involved convincing evidence about "righteousness!" Through the third administration, this involves convincing evidence about "judgement" against Satan and his world! This judgement has to do with bringing every thought into captivity, "to make it obedient to the Christ." The gifts of the holy spirit give us the superhuman supernatural Inzintian strength to do just that. How does this manifest itself? As a gathering work:

This undeserved kindness he caused to abound toward us in all wisdom and understanding by making known to us the sacred secret of his will. It is according to his good pleasure that he himself purposed for an administration at the full limit of the appointed times, to gather all things together in the Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth. Yes, in him
Eph 1:8-10

In this case, the "us" Paul speaks of here refers to all anointed ones. But the administration he speaks of is specific to the end of the last days, that is, it is an administration at the "full limit of the appointed times." It's work is to 'gather all things together in the Christ." It is obvious from those words, that this scripture could not apply to either of the first two administrations, because then, there would have been nothing left to gather: as this administration leaves nothing - ungathered! It is tasked with "[gathering] all things together ... the things in the heavens, and the things on the Earth!" The additional detail at the end: "Yes, in him," has to do with the fact that the 3 administrations are all a definition of different aspects of the Christ. By the holy ones conquering the era-specific issues, through the helper's convincing evidence, they bring "every thought into captivity" - effectively conquering it for the Christ. For they are members of his body. Whatever victory they have is a victory for Christ! The first two administrations did this, but the function of judging was left for the last administration. The one that would operate, not at the beginning of the last days, but at their "full limit."

How is the victory for the holy ones a victory for Christ? Through the principle in 1 Corinthians chapter 3. It shows us why the reasonings of Intellectuals are "futile." Because they belong to us as something to be conquered as brought out in the verses above. (Verses like 1Co 1:27-31 and 2Co 10:4,5.) In turn our victories are Christ's victories, and Christ's victories are Jehovah's victories - because of the chain of possession! We "own" the Intellectuals, but we belong to Christ, inturn, Christ belongs to Jehovah:

And again: "Jehovah knows that the reasonings of the wise men are futile." So let no one boast in men; for all things belong to you, whether Paul or A·pol'los or Ce'phas or the world or life or death or things now here or things to come, all things belong to you; in turn you belong to Christ; Christ, in turn, belongs to God
1Co 3:20-23

But, this section is about why the three epochs of prophesied activity are called administrations. Merging identical Evidence Profiles allow us to see that features that were described in one apply in the other. Since we now know that The Life refers to the judgement of Satan - which culminates in the literal destruction of his system of things at Armageddon - we realize that this third of Christian epochs is the "administration at the full limit of the appointed times." Not only because of what it accomplishes, but because of the time it is operative in. Working backwards, we can apply its descriptive features retroactively to the first two Christian epochs of activity. This means, since it is called an administration, the first two epochs called The Way and The Life - are also "administrations!" Isn't logic wonderful!

We have established the big picture perspective of the third Christian administration. Now we get into specifics. What will it accomplish and how - according to the Bible?
